It is reported that from the beginning of this year, the European Union banned the use of HFC-134a refrigerants, requiring the global warming potential of automotive air-conditioning refrigerants to be less than 150. Obviously, the new refrigerant fully meets the needs of the EU.

A Honeywell spokesperson stated that HFO 1234yf was successfully developed by DuPont and Honeywell, mainly to meet relevant EU regulatory requirements. Later this year, the joint venture company of both parties will begin commercial production of the product, first of all to those manufacturers that sell automobiles to Europe.
