RALPH LAUREN Introduces RL AUTOMOTIVE Stainless Steel Timepiece

Ralph Lauren cleverly connects sports cars and watchmaking to launch a new stainless steel watch for the prestigious Automotive line. This timepiece inherits the pedigree of the RL Automotive Skeleton watch, which was first introduced in 2015 and is inspired by Ralph Lauren's celebrity collection.

The new stainless steel Skeleton watch combines industrial strength and exquisite design to create a skeleton board with a masterpiece that unveils the delicate structure. Polished and matte steel parts complement each other, including polished screws such as automotive chassis rivets, and pay tribute to Mr. Lauren’s 1950s award-winning racing car. The case is 44.8 mm long and 11.2 mm wide. It is equipped with the FAJones mechanical movement made in Switzerland and tailored by Val Fleurier for Ralph Lauren. The RL1967 self-winding movement oscillates at 18,000 times per hour and has a 45-hour power reserve. The movement is decorated with vertical Geneva wave patterns and ring-shaped Perlage fish scales. The polished slats of stainless steel are decorated with closely linked “RL” logos at the 12 o'clock position.

The glossy bezel is made of tumors of Amberwood, a material commonly used in the interior of luxury cars, including antique cars owned by Ralph Lauren. The bezel is carefully cut and modified by hand to highlight its rich swirling wood grain. In addition, the craft master personally screwed the screws on the curved bezel to highlight the extraordinary design of the masculine and elegant aesthetics of the Ralph Lauren watches. “I often draw inspiration from sports car designs, including materials, lines, strengths, and features.
