Nanshan Aluminum Develops Automotive Aluminum Alloy Sheets

Recently, the first auto aluminum alloy sheet product with independent intellectual property rights in China was rolled off the aerospace materials division of Shandong Nanshan Aluminum Co., Ltd. After testing, the yield strength is between 115 and 125MPa, the tensile strength reaches 260-270MPa, the elongation after breaking (A80mm) can reach over 27%, and the uniform elongation is over 24%. 6016-T4P automobile outer panel yield strength between 100 ~ 110MPa, tensile strength of 210-220MPa, elongation after breaking (A80mm) can reach more than 27%, uniform elongation of 22.5%. After production verification, the product performance is stable, and the performance of the 5182-O automotive interior panel satisfies the requirements of automotive panels.

In the two-dimensional situation of energy and the environment, vehicle lightweighting is imperative. The use of aluminum alloy instead of steel on the car's inner and outer panels can reduce body weight by approximately 47%. Nanshan Aluminum's R&D strength is based on independent research and development. Under the background of only technical requirements and no reference to the process plan, it was established in 2014 to carry out product research and development and technology research on 5182 alloy automotive interior panels and 6016 automotive exterior panels. . After repeated process exploration and trial production, a number of technical difficulties were overcome. In July 2015, finished 5182-O automotive interior panels and 6016-T4P automotive exterior panels were completed.

At present, Nanshan Aluminum has become the first domestic aluminum alloy sheet for automobiles and has the capability of mass production of automotive interior and exterior panels. It can meet different car prices for different surface texturing, passivation and oiling of aluminum alloy automotive panels.
