Nanofluid improves the performance of automotive radiators

Chemical engineer Mashhard studied the performance of automotive radiators at the University of Philodose and achieved a significant increase in the heat transfer of these systems compared to base fluid nanofluids. The results of the research (an experimental study of the heat transfer of CuO/EG-water as a coolant for automotive radiators) show that nanofluids are a good substitute for heat sinks and heat exchange coolants.
Materials with higher thermal properties are required to increase the performance of the heat sink. Using nanofluids is one of the ways to increase radiative heat transfer. In this study, the heat dissipation of automotive radiators was studied using nanofluids. The results of this study show that using nanofluids can increase heat transfer by up to 50%. Reducing the size and weight of the radiator is one of the results of this research. In addition to lowering production costs, better designated cars are possible when the radiator becomes miniaturized. On the other hand, better cooling has a positive effect on the amount of fuel consumption and fuel consumption reduction.
Nanofluids are prepared by the stable dispersion of nanoparticles in a heat transfer fluid, usually water or ethylene glycol. In this study, similar to the system design and production of the automotive tank cooling system. The nanofluid (a 60 to 40 mixture of water, with ethylene glycol) replaces the radiator cooling fluid. Titanium oxide (TiO 2) and copper oxide (CuO) were used as nanoparticles in this study.
