In April of this year, the Brazilian government announced a new automobile industry policy that imposes a 30% industrial product tax on imported cars, which drove the sales of JAC vehicles in Brazil to 1800 vehicles a month, down from 3,000 units originally sold each month. For this reason, JAC once announced its plan to invest in Brazil to build factories. At present, the Brazilian government has issued regulations for the implementation of the new automobile industry policy. The implementation rules adopt more flexible regulations for new foreign-invested manufacturers.
