Dongfeng and Chinalco Jointly Develop Automotive Aluminum Alloys

According to the agreement, the two parties will carry out business synergy in the application of automotive aluminum alloys, and will carry out research, development and application of new materials, new processes, and new technologies.

It is understood that vehicle weight reduction is the mainstream development direction of the automotive technology in the low-carbon era. Dongfeng's technology center has been conducting in-depth research in this area for many years. Currently, the Dongfeng EJ series electric vehicles have adopted the lightweight production process of aluminum bodies. Dongfeng has established a joint laboratory with Chinalco to establish a technical cooperation and communication platform for the development and molding of automotive aluminum alloy materials, molding, surface treatment, component design, and quality improvement for both experts and scholars.
