BASF expands production of automotive coatings in China

BASF Shanghai Paint Co., Ltd. will invest in a new automotive paint production facility in the Shanghai Chemical Industry Park. With the completion of the new installation, the annual production capacity of BASF Shanghai Paint Co., Ltd. in China will increase by 13,500 tons. This investment further strengthens its position as one of China's leading automotive coatings suppliers. Car paint paints the body during the painting process, which is the key to achieving a beautiful appearance of the car.

The new paint production facility is scheduled to start production in the first half of 2014. The entire installation is designed according to the most advanced and environmentally friendly production processes and technologies. BASF Shanghai Paint Co., Ltd. is a joint venture between BASF and Shanghai Paint Co., Ltd. and has a paint production facility in Minhang District, Shanghai. Both parties have accumulated 15 years of successful cooperation experience.
