The absolute use of hydrochlorofluorocarbons has nearly doubled since the beginning. After China joined the Montreal Protocol in 1991, it promised that the production and consumption of HCFCs will be reduced by 10% of the level of the freeze in 2015. By 2030, the full elimination will be achieved except for keeping a small amount of maintenance. In the first phase of the goal of “cutting the freeze level by 10%,” new refrigerants are expected to open up new markets.

At present, it can be seen from the purchasing volume of downstream industries such as automobiles and air conditioners that there is a clear upward trend in the demand for emerging refrigerants. As the largest user of refrigerants, China's air-conditioning companies are already using new refrigerants. At present, there are already 11 air-conditioning manufacturing companies and the Environmental Protection Foreign Cooperation Center of the Ministry of Environmental Protection has signed a contract to reform the new refrigerant production line. Due to the continuing hot weather across the country this year, the demand for refrigerants such as automobiles and air conditioners will be significantly increased in the short term. Some companies are actively deploying new refrigerants.
